How do you influence a judge or district attorney on a criminal case?

How do you influence a judge or district attorney on a criminal case? My brother is a repeat DWI offender, yet has never been in a rehabilitative setting before. My goal is to recieve the most productive alternative (rehabilitation)to prison time for him. Any ideas? In such a place like court, its hard to know what can happen from one mintue to the next. How do i influence such hardend prosecuters and judges?

Keep in mind whatever you say, the judge has probably heard it before. If your brother was truly concerned about rehabilitation, he would have enrolled in a program after his first DWI. Because he didn’t, the judge may think he is only doing it to avoid jail time.

For this reason, I think the argument should be made by an experienced attorney.
