Wisconsin Commemorative
Do you think that people are treating religions equally?
I do not! I just saw a story on the news where a Wisconsin student got a zero on art, because it had Christian images and text. Why allow teachers to uphold the seperation of Church and State at all if they will not include all religions? I hear that as long as an assignment, a commemorative plaque or a speech has Christian content, it dosen’t belong at school or in a public place, but if it has Jewish, Buddhist, Muslim, or ANY other religous content it has every right to be there. Why is that?
What really gets to me is, that teacher from Wisconsin did give a grade to students for making pictures of Satan, demons and one student even drew or painted Buddha.
All of those students should have gotten zeroes.
At least there aren’t Christian extremists who tell you “convert to our religion or else.” And as for Wicca, some claim Wiccans are church going Christians. It is possible that most people would stay away from them, just like they would be nervous around snake-handlers.
If you are suggesting that Christians are persecuted in this country you are out of your mind.
If that story is true I think it is pretty bad. Seperation of church and state does not mean the kid can’t do anything religious…. it means the school and its teachers can’t.
