Wheat Copper

Wheat Copper
1944/s copper wheat penny……?

I found a 1944/s copper wheat penny. Tarnished but is good condition after circulating for 67years.
Front – Lincoln, In God We Trust, very clear 1944 with an s under it. Back – E Pluribus Unum, One Cent, United States Of America, two wheat stalks. There is some smoothing of the E Pluribus Unum, In God We Trust and the tops of the stalks. I have no idea as to what “grade” it might be considered. It did not pass my magnet test so I would assume it’s not a rare 1944 steel wheat penny(Serious bummer!)
My my actual question is….Does it have any real monetary value(beyond 1 – 30 cents) or is it just a regular 1944 penny?
Thanks!

Mikala

Any wheat penny is worth three cents just in the copper. Yours is pretty common, but you don’t see them in circulation too often. A dealer would charge fifteen to twenty five cents. If you had a couple hundred mixed wheats, or more, a dealer might pay you 4 or 5 cents each.
