What is the component of soil that consists of very fine, powdery earth or sand? Silt or Shale? Please help.
The answer is silt, but it is not formed in rivers. Silt is a component to all soils, it is a particle ranging in size from about 0.002mm to about 0.06mm in diameter. Shale is a sedimentary rock.
