Uncirculated Lincoln
What 2009 lincoln pennies should I buy?
I’m wanting to buy some of the new 2009 pennies for grand kids. Which ones should I consider? Do they come in sets? Should I buy uncirculated? What prices should I expect to pay? Not wanting to spend an arm and a leg…..
The 4 different Commemorative cents are available as a proof set on their own for around $18.95 They are struck at the San Francisco mint on special planchets and using special dies. There also will be a mint set out but I am not sure if the cents will be sold as a stand alone set of the Philly mint and Denver mint or if one has to by the complete set with all the coins such as the presidential dollars, nickel dime etc. It will not be out for a while. Dealers are also selling rolls of the ones out so far and the prices are from $6.95 a roll up to $9.95 a roll. The lower price is from large dealers but you have to pay postage so a local dealer may be better even if you pay more. At this time only the proof sets contain all 4 designs so it is much to early to tell what would be the better investment. Hope this helps
