The value of an uncirculated “mint state-65” 1950 jefferson nickel minted in Denver is7/4 the value a 1945 nickel minted in philadephia in similar condtion . together the value of the two coins is $44. What is the value of each coin?

’45 nickel = x
’50 nickel = 7/4x
7/4x + x = 44
11/4x = 44
11x = 176
x = 176/11
x = 16
’45 = 16
’50 = 16*(7/4)
’50 = 28
