Some tips on being a top notch administrative assistant?
Any and all would help!
I am new to this field of work and am always looking for ways to put my best foot forward each day.
I have retired from the work field, but I have worked in probably every area you can imagine. Lots of years of experience.
1. Dress professionally, not sleezy, just classic.
2. Avoid lots of jewelry, makeup and busy hairdo’s.
3. Keep all of your boss’ information private. NEVER tell other employees any of his business.
4. Do not date anyone in the company. My daddy always told me never get your meat where you get your bread!
5. At business functions, watch your intake of alcohol.
6. Do not divulge all of your personal info or problems to anyone during breaks or lunch times. They will turn on you everytime!
7. Never discuss salaries with other employees.
8. Do not allow anyone to get away with sexual or mental harrassment.
9. Always arrive a little early to prepare for the day, and do not start shutting down 30 minutes before quitting time.
10. Avoid food and drink at your desk, always, even if permitted.
11. Start each day with a smile and a good morning….sounds like you are on your way! Congrats!
