Some of the greatest Classical composers to ever play
Here’s a short run through of three talented musical compsers in classical music.
Ludwig Van Beethoven. Beethoven may be the most famous compsers more to the fact that he composed, wrote and performed his music while becomming deaf in his early twenties. Born at the end of 1770, Beethoven followed in the family tradition of music by working at some point in the court of the Elector of Cologne. The elector financed his move to Vienna in 1792, where we studied the violin and counterpoint. Beethoven noticed he was loosing his hearing in 1796 while in Vienna, which has been rumoured to be because of lead posioning. Beethoven’s work is usually divided into three different parts- the early, middle and later periods. His early period work was said to be influenced by mozart (who we’ll get to in a minute) and went upto 1806. The middle period went from 1803-1814, and the later period went from 1815 up till his death.
Wolfgang Mozart. Mozart was born in 1756 and composed over six hundred pieces and is reguarded as one of the best composers of classical music. A child prodigy, Mozart performed to royalty and composed music from as early as five years old. He was even employed as a court musician in Sazlburg from the age of 17. After visiting Vienna he deicded to stay on and this is they city where he acheived fame, but little fortune. Mozart suffered from Rheumatic fever, which is what was believed to have killed him in 1791.
Johann Bach. Bach was influential on the Baroque period, helping to mature the genre. He was a compsers and orgainst, born in 1865 in Germany. Bach’s talent for composing was only really acknowledged during the 19th century after renewed interest in his work. He was only credited as a talented organist during his lifetime. When Bach was orphaned at 10 years of age we was shipped off to live with his brother, an organist. From his elder brother and guardian Bach learned to play the Clavicord and became proficent in music. Two Bach’s children from his first marriage were influential in the Rococo style that later followed Barquoe: Wilhem and Carl. He was hired by Prince Leopold of Anhalt-Cöthen as his court’s director of music, during this time Bach lost his wife in 1720 and remarried a year later. In 1723, Bach was appointed Cantor of Thomasschule, a posistion he held until his death in 1750.
