In any Mill Test Certificate of any of hot rolled steel, is it one specimen used for tensile test?

If you know how the mill test is conducted for hot rolled sections or plates, please share it with me. Thanks in advance.

If in the US for coiled steel, then I believe ASTM specs state that at least two coils must be tested per heat. And if the thickness between the coils is different enough then more will need to be tested. I would assume the same thing out of plate, but I dont know for sure.

I don’t think there is any standard way of reporting. If a customer ordered a coil from us, then we would supply the one test on that coil, if that coil was tested. If the customers particular coil was not tested then we would supply both tests for the heat. But some mills I think will just average the results.
