You really should’ve done the research before you purchased the turtles, so you could’ve been prepared.

Lettuce is okay for turtles, it is not necessarily bad. Romaine lettuce has some vitamins, while Iceburg lettuce does not have any nutritional value. It can be fed sparingly, but not too often.

Turtles can eat a number of different vegetables and fruits, such as parsley, collard and mustard greens, apple, grapes, strawberries, beans, zucchini, carrots, celery and celery leaves, radish, cauliflower, aquatic plants, etc. Crickets, feeder fish, other insects can be fed as well. As occasional snacks, you can give them some regular meat, such as cooked chicken, cooked hamburger/beef, even ham or whatever lunch meat you have in the refrigerator – but only as small snacks. Since they’re very young right now, crickets/live food can be their main diet, while adults are mostly vegetarian.

Also, please do not take advice from pet stores, most are not at all educated on the animals they are selling.
