The first six weeks in SEO

When i entered the world of SEO i was told this was to be a ‘steep learning curve’, and at times it has been, but other times its general common sense dictating what to do.

To avoid working in retail all my life i went back to college in June and did Internet marketing, and got employment with a SEO company this february. The quote ‘college prepares you for nothing’ springs to mind, as while it isnt as easy as it was made out to be, it certainly isnt as hard as people make out. First thing i got put to work on was AMA articles, which once you find the right angle for a certain subject it can become interesting, even for subjects i find dull. I can now turn out more than 2 or 3 in a day, including re-spinning them, and the contents now fairly decent as well. AMA takes time to see the results- but they do come through and pleasently suprised me.

But AMA isnt the only tool that SEO has in the shed. There is also ‘do follow’ linking -or blog commenting. If you have something to contribute to the article it works, otherwise you just come across as a ‘spammer’, but at the same time dont over do the comment.

Linkbait is another tool- but what can qualify as being good linkbait? To get your linkbait to go ‘viral’ requires us to think outside the box- conventional ideas arent going to cut it here. Games, music, jokes or something completely random and funny that will get peoples attention will work.

So what have the difficulties been? Getting past the jargon mostly -aload of technical terms that are being thrown out there, and constantly re-fining the keywords can be slightly tedious -but necessary. I realise i havent given a full SEO review here and have just briefly touched on it -but then im on a path where im still learning ‘the trade’. After six weeks im not going to be brilliant at my job, no-one will be, but i can see my knowledge growing and what im applying starting to work out.

The Bodyguard: Original Soundtrack Album

The Bodyguard: Original Soundtrack Album

$4.57

At the time of its release, this was the watershed for soundtracks, selling a kazillion copies. It documents Whitney Houston’s character in the Kevin Costner movie, which required Houston to play only herself (although one hopes she wouldn’t end up with someone as smarmy as Costner). The album is as much a testament to the production of Babyface who, through the mid-1990s, actually was the mainstr…
