Choosing The Proper Precious Metal For The Diamond Wedding Ring Set

Yellow gold is somewhat softer than white gold in its purest, which is why there is generally another complimentary metal that is added to it to make it harder. The greater the degree of purity of the yellow gold the more costly it is and the softer it will be. Twenty-four karat gold is the softest, and most pure, and is almost always found in most diamond wedding ring sets. Ten karat gold is a type of yellow gold which has a higher percentage of other metals which will make it harder but less expensive.
White gold, on the contrary is yellow gold which has been treated in such a way to make the metal into a beautiful silver white but with similar characteristics as yellow gold. It will be more costly than yellow gold but only slightly, due to the cost of treating the metal.
