Sipadan Island, Sabah

Sipadan Island, off the coast of Sabah, is surrounded by spectacularly clear waters, which is home to some of the most amazing marine life around. The island has since been regarded as among the top diving spots in the globe, where divers can enjoy some of the most outstanding wall diving around, with a drop of more than 2,000 feet just 30 metres from the shore. All dive sites around the island are easily reachable by boat, while the island itself only takes about 25 minutes to circle by foot.

 

Mabul Island, Sabah

Noted as one of the best diving sites for underwater macrophotography, Mabul Island is surrounded by gorgeous sloping reefs, from two to forty metres deep, featuring a wonderful array of marine life, from sea horses, to pipefish, to exotic starfish. With over eight popular diving sites, diving is possible all year round. Like Sipadan, Mabul Island is accessible by boat from Semporna, Sabah, as well as Sipadan Island.

 

Layang-Layang Island, Sabah

Offering an exclusive experience, Layang-Layang Island can only be accessed as part of a private tour run by the Layang-Layang Island Resort, between February and October. Having said that it’s all worthwhile, as the island is home to not only world-class diving and fishing locations, but also someincredible bird-watching opportunities also. Thepleasant and azure waters are able to boast some of the greatest large fish and wall divingspots, whereimpressive coral walls plunge 2,000 metres to the floor of the ocean.

 

Pulau Tioman, Pahang

Tioman Island is considered to be one of the most beautiful islands in the world, offering some fantastic diving sites.Among the most famed divesites include Pulau Renggis, off Teluk Tekek, featuring lots of beautiful reef life, and Pulau Chebeh for deep-sea diving, where divers can feast their eyes onhuge manta rays and the Soyak Wreck, among many other sights. The island is easily accessible by air and by sea.

 

Pulau Redang, Terengganu

Redang island also offers some of Malaysia’s best diving sites in its beautiful, clear waters. The Terumbu Kili diving site features theconventional Redang sights, offering aspectaculararray of corals and marine life, including green turtles. Big Mount is also earmarked as one of the most incredible diving sites in Peninsular Malaysia,hosting aincredibly diversereef life. The isle is also reachable by airand sea.
