A New Contender In The Midsize Sedan Segment : The 2010 Suzuki Kizashi
Auto enthusiasts have dubbed the Kizashi as one of the best cars that Suzuki has ever produced and a solid contender in the competitive midsize sedan market. Automaker Suzuki is excited to enter this segment in the United States and will be competing directly with cars like the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry. The Kizashi has a very European aura about her; her handling and performance reminds you of European vehicles and so does her upscale cabin. The Kizashi comes available in four models: S, SE, GTS and SLS. With a base price of around $20k, Suzuki plans to price the Kizashi much cheaper than its competitors. Many reviewers who test drove this car claimed that this car has the feel of a German car, such as perhaps the Volkswagen or Audi.
The Kizashi is powered by a 2.4 Liter 4 cylinder 185 HP engine with 170 lb of feet torque and buyers can choose from a CVT transmission or a manual transmission. Suzuki plans to launch a model with a 6 cylinder engine in the near future. Fuel economy stands at 23 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the freeway. The car propels from 0-60 in 8.3 seconds.Many reviewers who test drove this car observed that the way this car handles and rides is like that of a German car due to the suspension and the way she handles sharp corners.
The interior of the Kizashi is extremely luxurious and plush, especially when you consider the base price of this car is around $20k. The door handles are upholstered just as the door panels. Standard features on all models include dual zone climate control, a 9 speaker stereo with CD player, USB compatibility, Ipod interface, sweet looking 16” wheels, Push-button keyless ignition and entry, a 3-Spoke Sport Steering Wheel with Remote Audio Controls and a Tilt & telescopic adjustable steering wheel. There are also lots of sweet options included such as temperature controlled heated seats, Bluetooth compatibility with audio streaming, heated outside mirrors and a Garmin navigation system.
Suzuki engineers filled this vehicle with lots of safety mechanisms such as electronic stability control with traction control system, an Anti-Lock Braking System, dual advanced front airbags, vehicle security system and Energy-absorbing trim on pillars and roof-side rails. The Kizashi earned five star ratings in four crash tests .
The downside to the Kizashi is that Suzuki dealers are difficult to find in the U.S so you might have to search around for awhile if you would like to get your hands on one for a test drive, but the positives far outweigh that small set back. The 2010 Kizashi packs so many premium qualities and luxury touches at such a great price. If you’re on the search for a midsize sedan but want to drive a car that’s a bit more rare and unique versus the more common Accord or Camry then check out the Kizashi. This car packs a ton of character and premium quality into a midsize sedan.
