Seal Boxes

I need help with porting speaker boxes. Any suggestions, hints, or tips?

I can build sealed boxes but I never learned how to build ported enclosures. I need tips and suggestions on how to cut/drill the ports so that the box will sound good and I won’t be just building an enclosure with holes in it that only let air escape. Thanks in advance!

There’s not a quick, simple answer to that question. There are specific formula to calculate the size of the box, size of port, length of port tube and you have to know the characteristics of the specific speaker. There used to be a paperback book that Radio Shack sold that explained Acoustic Suspension, Ported, Bass reflex etc. speakers. If you have the details on your speakers then that book is pretty good. I built some ported speakers that really sounded good. The book has all the formulas.
