Rotated Reverse
Can anyone tell me the value of a 1916D Buffalo Nickel that has a rotated reverse?
I have a 1916D rotated reverse buffalo coin, the date is very weak, but is visible with the naked eye. When you flip it straight over, the reverse is slightly slanted.
Looking at pcgs.com, there is no indication of any special value existing for a rotated reverse. Thus, the answer to your question probably depends more on the condition of the coin. Fortunately for you, the 1916-D seems to be somewhat rarer than many of the other Buffalo nickels, so the range runs from $16 in good condition (G-4) to $15,000 in Mint State-66 condition. You could ask a coin collector about the rotated reverse.
