Where can one buy a roll of Canadian circulated 50 cent pieces at face value?

I went to the bank to try to buy a roll of 50 cent pieces because I would rather carry a few of these in my change than a pocket full of quarters. I read on Wikipedia that an average of 400,000 are minted per year and that the only reason more are not minted is that there is a lack of demand for them. I figure Id be perhaps one of but a few Canadians to actually spend 50 cent pieces, but I first need to learn how to acquire them. To my understanding they come in rolls of 25 and cost $12.50 per roll.

I was surprised Canada even had 5o cent peices anymore…and I am Canadian and been here for along time……

Did you ask at your nearest Bank? I will ask them and see what they say, but assume they will know nothing about it…it would be nice to see the half-dollar around again….but I doubt if consumers can have anything to do with the supply of the coins..
