Reverse Mercury

I have a ’95 Mercury Grand Marquis. i can’t put it in drive or reverse.the “stick” is stuck. any idea?

it won’t change from park. i press on the brake and try to move it and it just won’t change!

if the car starts and the steering wheel moves it may be in a bind(park pawl in trans) you may have to jack up the rear of the car to take the load off.. but be careful !!!
