Registry Rare

Whats a neat way to wrap wedding gift?
I am going to a wedding this weekend and I haven’t bought the gift yet. This is very rare for me, I normally have it the day after they post their registry. So my idea is to get stuff from their registry, i.e. kitchen utensils and towels and put it in a small laundry basket and try and do something like that but is that to normal? I am going in on this with my brother in law and his girlfriend, but needless to say I will be one assembling the gift. I was also think of putting a card box with recipes in it because the couple has loved my husbands cooking and I think it would personalize it. Willing to take any suggestions, remember Martha Stewart I am not so be gentle.
Get either a white, pastel or a bright primary color small, but I like the rectangle ones best laundry basket. Then with whatever colors they have picked out for dish towels, make this the color of the basket items or closest to it.
Then have some of the items wrapped in a color co-ordinated paper, some in tissue paper like a bottle of wash liquid with the ends pulled together up at the top and a pretty piece of curly ribbon around the top, lots of curly ribbon. Then smaller items wrap in dish cloths and dish towels and tie with curly ribbon. Make an assortment of different gifts in assorted papers, cloths, towels, tissue paper, but all in the same color family. Buy extra tissue paper and put in like when you do a gift bag. When finished, get some wired ribbon for Micheals or Hobby Lobby in your colors or from florist and thread thru openings in the top of the basket, in and out and then when ends meet, make a huge bow in the front. To help fill the laundry basket, get a big, not too big, has to be wrappable, laundry detergent, fabric softener, spot remover, dryer sheets, no bleach, might spill and too heavy. Add in a cheery feather or the flushy kind of duster, some furniture polish, tie curly ribbon around the feather duster thingy. A Tide pen, if you have ever seen them they are great for spots. The recipe box is an excellent idea!!! A good start, be sure it matches. And for fun, depends on how much $ you are putting into it, a small kitchen fire extinguisher, like a joke. A small cookie sheet with a box of sugar cookie mix and several bottles/jars/containers of the colored sprinkles or colored sugar to go on top or a bottle of good vanilla flavoring or a box of food colors, things that would help fill up the basket, but also give the couple a start on the things they will need. Spices can be bought at $ store. Put in as much as you can afford and you can carry, make it colorful with some items wrapped, some containers like the laundry detergent with the tissue paper “sticking up” even if you have to add extra and again lots of curly ribbon so it “makes a big presentation” appearance and she will love opening all of the items. Some things that may not be on their registry, but useful a Pyrex 2 cup measuring cup, a colander, a hand chopper, a timer, a small hard plastic or wood (but wood must be right kind) cutting board. A set of rubber handled tongs for removing things that “boil in the bag”. Salt and pepper shakers. A candle (jar kind) with a cinnamon/spicy/kitcheny smell. Lifting pads and mitts. cute ones. I have a crocodile and a dragon, love em.Hope this helps!!
