Marry in the Grand Canyon

There is no site that is more stunning and awesome in its majesty than the Grand Canyon. This all-American sight is the perfect place to say your nuptials. There are a great many ways to say, "I do" when you plan your wedding in the spectacular Grand Canyon, and you have an unlimited number of weddings from which to choose. Because of the vastness of the canyon that Mother Nature took 10 million years to carve, you can choose any rim and any state in which to stay. If it is difficult to decide, Go ahead and have the ceremony and also stay there in the canyon.

The Grand Canyon West Ranch has private pine cabins to stay in or you can select an authentic Indian tipi. Onechoice is to take a helicopter in then take a horseride from the helicopter and have the wedding at the ranch. If you decide you prefer to spend the night elsewhere, you also have that option. Because this is your special day, you’ll want to dress in your wedding attire with simple bridal jewelry and have only the beauty of the walls created by Mother Nature to compete. Obviously, when the wedding is over, if you decide to remain at the ranch, prepare for a western entertainment evening with blue jeans and cowboy style hats.

The Grand Canyon West Ranch isn’t the only spot to marry. There are bargains everywhere and lush elegance as well. Take a helicopter ride in and get married while gazing from the cliffs that look over the canyon. You have your choice of places to lift off, but many couples prefer the city of Sedona or Las Vegas for their departure or return point. Again, these weddings allow you to select the most appropriate clothes and bridal jewelry to fit your vision, but every bride wants to look her best. Gentlemen, take note. This is a great chance to buy your love some jewelry to catch the sun and reflect the light back with the beauty of an azure sky and the background of the colorful walls of the canyon. Fly back to your original destination and spend the night at the mystic Sedona or glamorous Las Vegas.

While there are places to stay at the north, south, east, and west rims, the most developed area is the south rim at Grand Canyon Village. The southern rim is lower than the one on the north by 1000 feet and much drier. The rainfall is about one foot per year on the north rim and the snowfall is slightly more than five feet of snow. The rainfall has more effect on the northern rim as shown by the erosion. It's also colder because of its height. The north rim is less visited but might be just the place on a hot summer day because of its more temperate climate. The view between the two also varies, with the south rim presenting more of a high desert plant life.

Stay at one of the hotels along the rim of the Grand Canyon and use the services of the hotels for your wedding. Once the honeymoon begins, there are some unusual ways to spend the first days as man and wife. Ride to the bottom on a mule or burro and enjoy spending the night. Many of the rides stop at accomodations with gift shops and places that offer an opportunity to take great camera shots. The hotel at the bottom of the canyon specializes in steaks.Choose to stay the night or be prepared to spend four hours riding back to the top after your lunch. Remember that there are restrictions regarding people's health and also weight about being allowed to ride down. Dress warmly in the winter because you'll be leading your animal down through a snowy path. You will need to dress warmly with layers of clothing most of the year because the temperature warms up as you get closer to the bottom. A trip into the heart of the Grand Canyon will be an experience that you and your new spouse will remember for the rest of your lives.
