Rare Coins

rare coins values and description of coin?
I have a 1901 steel wheat penny, the description is of a wheat United States of America, and the word “(cents”) on the back with the wheat.
On the front embeded in the coin is a lady, with what looks likes tree leafs. or something to that nature. i have been looking all over for information of the coin.
OK, first we need to clear up a couple of things.
The first one is that steel cents were only minted in 1943, to conserve copper needed for the war effort. A 1901 cent is made out of bronze.
Second, a “wheat cent” is a Lincoln cent struck with the original reverse from 1909 through 1958.
If you had looked up “Indian Head cent”, you would have found plenty of information, because that is what you have. On the obverse (front) of the coin is a picture of “Liberty”, wearing a Native American headdress. BTW, the sculptor who designed the coin used his daughter as the model.
It’s actually a pretty common coin–one that is worn to the point that the portrait is basically an outline with a few details would cost you less than $2 at a coin dealer. Even if it’s worn no worse than the average coin you get in change, a dealer would sell you one for about $5.
