my school: transcript only shows semester grades
(2 semesters each year, 4 quarters)
This is the first quarter and i have an an A in honors english and health team relations, a high B in honors history(but will probably pull of an A before the end of this quarter) and an average C in honors Geometry, i am trying hard but i will probably get a C this quarter, if i work hard i can get an A for the final grade, but will colleges such as: Duke University, UNC Chapel hill, Wake Forest, and University of Chicago look at my 1 C for my quarter grade, freshman year is intimidating and hard, but I am trying my best to do good because i want to be a doctor. I know how hard i need to work now and will get straight A’s throughout high school but I am freaking out about this C.
One C freshman year will not kill your chances at any school. You’re making a big adjustment from middle to high school work, and they take that into account. Some colleges don’t even factor freshman year grades into their personal calculations of your GPA. And if your school is on a semester system, a first quarter grade may never even appear on your official transcript anyway. So don’t worry: just keep doing what you’re doing to improve, and it’ll be okay.
