Your special twist on Teriyaki Sauce or Marinade?

I live in Hawaii, and anybody that cooks knows how to make teriyaki marinade/sauce. Do you have a special twist on yours? I am going to light up some kiawe wood and I have a couple of chicken quarters (for the teriyaki). Pork ribs I was thinking of marinating in orange juice and scallions. (Don’t worry it is only noon here and kiawe takes awhile to make charcoal). Any suggestions? Mahalo nui loa!

You’re in the teriyaki Capitol of our nation……in your order of likeness:

Orange juice, mango juice. papaya juice, any citrus juice

Pineapple juice

Brown sugar/turbinado sugar

Equal parts of mashed ginger root and garlic

Soy sauce, to taste

Rice Vinegar, seasoned ( like Marukano)

Add all ingredients to saucepan……heat slowly to simmer, cover, turn off heat, let sit for about 1 hour…..use in recipe or use strained as dipping sauce
