How do i test a coin for pladdium, without hurting the coin?

Ok, I have a 1987 Isle of man crown proof, its to commemorate the American cup challenge…its the one with the statue of liberty behind it…….that is either nickel or palladium……. I don’t wanna rune the coin its perfect its just there is a huge value difference between the 2 and they both look similar.

Just weigh them, all palladium crowns from the Isle of Man are 999 pure palladium and weigh 31.1 grams. The nickel ones are cupro-nickel and weigh about 28.4 grams. Garth
