Proof Mississippi

Proof Mississippi
If one lacks papers, what does one do?

I was homeschooled, and I finished my curriculum. I’ve taken practice GED tests and did excellently, but I can’t take the actual GED because I have no proof of graduation. Does anyone know what I’m to do? I live in Mississippi and I’m 18.

The GED is for people who have not finished their curriculum and finished their program of High School education. If you were legally home schooled, then you should have no need to take the GED. Take a look at the Mississippi requirements for homeschooling, and you shouldn’t have to take any additional exams.

I was home schooled in Texas, where all I had to do to graduate was say I was done with high school. :-) It may not be like that in all states though – you or your parents may need to file papers with the state or your local school district.

If it turns out that you won’t be able to get a home school high school diploma (which shouldn’t be a problem, particularly if you were enrolled in a specific curriculum), then you shouldn’t have any problems taking the GED since it is designed specifically for people who don’t have a diploma.
