Does being a gay affect one’s professional life?

Gayness is a personal aspect of a man’s life. I know personal and professional lives are different. But still, does being a gay single affect a man’s professional life? Asian countries have strict laws against homosexuality. In such countries what makes gays to go on with their professional lives? In short, does being a gay affect one’s professional life, career and ambitions?

I didn’t know that about Asian countries ! I know that in Muslim countries it is punishable by DEATH; which certainly does “affect one’s professional life” !!
