The HTC Thunderbolt is known for its significant and quick impact on the smart phone market. Few anticipated cell phones live up to the hype quite the way this one has. Perhaps the simplest solution is to buy both a case and a pouch. But is that the best option? After investing a lot of money into the HTC Thunderbolt, not a lot of people has leftover funds. Another issue is that most superior pouches fit the HTC Thunderbolt precisely. In other words, if you slap on a case, then the smart phone will no longer fit in the pouch correctly. If you buy a pouch that’s big enough to work, then that pouch isn’t really doing its job. In that case, you’re probably best off just choosing the best case you can afford and sticking with that.
The benefit of a case over a pouch is that the case is streamlined. Some are small enough to maintain the original design of the phone. Others are able to mimic it or even provide their own style. Some cases even include screen protectors, and the ones that don’t usually play well with other options. Another good advantage about the case is that you don’t have to take it off. Once you put it on, it becomes a part of your phone, and you simply use it as is.
The downside to that is it can make the HTC Thunderbolt more difficult to manipulate. One of the benefits of the pouch is that you take the phone out to use it. Therefore, you use the phone just as HTC intended you to use it when they rolled it off the production line. But the cons of a pouch is that you have to carry it around which can be less convenient than carrying around a HTC Thunderbolt inside a case. Sure, some pouches are small enough to latch onto your belt but it’s not exactly a holster-style case. And most are too big to fit on a belt or in a pocket.
So should you go with a case or pouch? Well, like everything in life, it depends. If you use a briefcase or purse often and are always on the go, then a pouch will fit your lifestyle well. If you’re stationary most of the day or always have your HTC Thunderbolt right at your side, then a case is likely to be much more convenient. Consumers should note that a high-quality pouch is probably the best protection money can buy. Of course, that protection comes at the cost of accessibility. It’s really a matter of convenience. Get as much protection as you can without disrupting usage.
