Are copper pennies going to be worth anything in the future?

would they be rarer and therefore worth more? When and how much?

They have been worth more than a penny for a while now. That’s why the mint stopped making them out of copper in modern versions. A current penny is only 2% (ish) copper and is worth something like 1.5 cents in materials. Pennies haven’t been “real” copper since 1982.
