Looking Forward To Spring Cleaning

With the onset of spring, many housekeepers around the world will be embarking upon the task of their spring cleaning. There are a wide array of tools and cleaners that will be utilized in the process. Whether you have the right cleaning solution for the right task will be key to the success at accomplishing the various tasks in the shortest amount of time.

To speed the process, rather than just start any one task, it would be good to make a list of the things one wants to accomplish to ensure nothing gets left undone. The list might include tackling the bedrooms first, or the back of the house first, and then make ones way to the living room and/or family room, and end with the kitchen and baths.

Often times we could have a teenage helper who would benefit from having a checklist they could use. That way, if any verbal instructions have been overlooked, they can refer to the checklist to make sure they haven’t missed the windows, window sills, baseboards, cobwebs, washing walls, vacuuming carpet, dusting drapery and turning mattresses.

Have the best equipment with multiple features can be beneficial. When cleaning bare floors and carpeted ones, you can save time by having a good vacuum to use like the Dyson all floors model. As part of the cleaning project, this is an opportune time to remove old batteries from smoke detectors or alarms and replace them with nickel free batteries. By doing this, on a regular schedule with the spring cleaning, you will be certain your safety precautions will be ready if needed.

It is a good idea to be dressed in work clothing when undertaking the job of spring cleaning. Working in your robe and slippers does not work well if you are using solutions that could damage your clothes. Having adequate protection on your feet is a must in the event you have an accident and drop a heavy object on your foot. In that case, wearing a brown boot or other work shoe could keep you from serious injury.

If you have the right equipment to use, spring cleaning will not take a long time. Managing your time and individual projects from the start will ensure a complete cleaning of all areas of the home, including washing windows and walls.
