How to deny job offers when you find the right one?
I just went around couple businesses the other day and I am just staring to fill out all the applications. I was wondering how to deny the job offers of the ones I least like to work at in order to work at the place I’d prefer the most? Thanks in advance.
P.S. This is my first time looking for jobs; as you can see I’m quite unexperienced. I’d appreciate it if you are able to specifically give me some helpful advices.
I am going to start with the assumption that you are not applying for jobs you know in advance you are going to hate.
So: Don’t deny a job offer outright, especially if the one you want hasn’t offered anything yet. If you want to wait a little bit for a better offer tell the recruiter that you need a day to discuss it with your significant other and promise to call back by 11 the next morning. And make sure you call!
When you do want to deny a job offer, just politely tell the recruiter that it isn’t quite what you were looking for. Or you can lie and say you have accepted another offer, but you should only use that for jobs that you really, really don’t want.
Don’t put off accepting a perfectly good job offer any longer than that unless you have an exceptional education or you are independently wealthy and are only working for the experience.
For a first job you probably should not prepare to get your dream job right away. You want to have some experience under your belt before you get your dream job anyway, so that you can make all your stupidest mistakes someplace where it doesn’t really matter.
Dress well and use your best grammar during your interviews.

P.S. Don’t apply for the jobs that say, “No experience necessary! You can make up to $1,000 per week!!” Those are almost always shady sales jobs and most people hate those jobs.
