Would americas Presence in Iraq and other countries contradict the Monroe Doctrine?

I know some people suggest our heavy military pressence in other countries to be “policing the world” and i agree(im an extreame left wing liberal) but wouldent that also contradict the Monroe Doctrine That states that anycountry of the Western World can not stop another country by sending troops to said country? (that was a rough summary)

Not at all. The Monroe doctrine was meant to dissuade Eurpoean nations, specifically Spain, from seeking more colonies in Centeral and South America. It stated that the United States would look on any European interference in Latin America as a matter of security to the United States. It also stated the United States’ intention not to get involved in any wars in Europe. Of course this doctrine became meaningless once the United States entered World War I.
