Is the 2009 Mini Cooper John Cooper Works really worth the extra money over the 2009 Mini Cooper S?

In the USA, the 2009 Mini Cooper S is worth $22,600 brand new. The 2009 Mini John Cooper Works is $29,200 brand new. My budget is $25,000 out the door exactly. Should I go ahead and purchase a Mini Cooper S or a used Mini John Cooper Works? Is the John Cooper Works Mini really worth the extra money?

I love the mini coops, any one would suffice for me.
