Liberty Head Silver Dollar Question?
I was cleaning out a desk drawer at my house and found a liberty head silver dollar. I tried looking it up online to see what it’s worth now-a-days but am having a little trouble finding it. It looks similar to the other ones I have found pictures of, only it doesn’t have a date on it. It says .999 fine silver on the back. I just thought it was strange that there is no date on the front. Instead, the stars just continue around the outside edge of the coin where the date normally would be. Does anyone have any idea why this is, or how much it may be worth? Thanks!
You have what is called a silver round that is not a coin, in reality it is a medal. They are an easy way to buy one ounce of silver that is .999 fine. In order to make it easy to sell them they are made with many themes such as almost copies of real coins to a lot of patriotic types. They are worth the value of the silver in them minus a percentage for dealer profit. Values depend on what the spot price of silver is at the time of sale. Today silver spot was $17.83 so you would get $12-$14 there about.
