Will a magnet be attracted to 18 karat gold?
I have a watch that i am trying to learn some info on. On the back it says 18k. It seems to attach to a magnet if i hold it real close. Does this mean it’s fake or is it because 18k gold is only 75% gold?
I haven’t held it to the clock part itself, just the band.
your going to mess up the watch with the magnet! the gears will become magnitised and thats the end of the watch, if it’s a digital watch it will ruin the LCD panel.
it could be the pins that are holding the gold links together, they might be made out of a magnetic metal.
and because it’s not pure 14k gold, it has other metals mixed in with it, but not sure how muc magnitism they would have.
