Make an A School Scrapbook

Making a school scrapbook is a great idea and a hot subject for many scrapbooking fans. This is probably because most people’s college years helped define them into the individual they are today through all of the drama, events, friends, awards and punishments.

With college being such a fundamental part of what shaped you to be the individual you are today, it’s important that you capture those feelings in your album. On top of this, many colleges send parents many great scrapbooking materials, on a virtually scheduled basis.

Firstly, most schools have a newsletter that gets sent out on a consistent basis. If there’s a big event that went on in class, it’s going to be covered in the newsletter. New buildings, big awards and sport teams winning will always be covered in newsletters. So be certain to hold on to them for your school scrapbook.

School diaries are also another good source of material. In them you may find inventories of homework, notices from teachers to folks, your ( or your child’s ) doodles and scribbles and so on. Skipping through the pages will yield some things that you will definitely need to put into your book.

At about that point its crucial to note that school is not unvaryingly high grades and success, at some specific point most people have gotten a bad grade (or heaven forbid, a large amount of bad grades), detentions or notes home to elders. Don’t leave these out! Some scrapbookers only wish to remember the great times and take a look at their recollections through rose coloured glasses, but you will only truly capture the swings and roundabouts of your college years if you include the bad times with the good. It will add a providence to your school scrapbook that’s hard to capture.

Pictures are your next stop. Its around school age that people start to get snap happy. Take your photo albums, blow the dust off and go through them. You’ll find some photos of you (or your kids) in a school uniform and plenty of ones with college friends in them. To mix it up a little bit if you have photos of them now, put them both in your book as a image of then versus now.

Last though not least, don’t forget to add in any awards that you or you children may have won. Whether its a sporting victory, maths competition, spelling bee, science award – or even just when you got a gold star on your homework, add it into your school scrapbook. Ensure that you celebrate both the highs and lows.

When your book is complete, it should be a decorative party of your great and not so great moments. A real testament of what made you the individual you are today!

And as always, happy scrapping.
