Head Dime
I have a freshwater snowflake eel about 18in and the head is about the size of a dime&the body about quarter?
Ok,the tank is a 55gl,i’ve had the following fish in this tank when they were no bigger than a inch,iknow that i’ma have to get a bigger tank because now the size range is 3in to 18in and this is whats in there from smallest to biggest in order,parrot,clown loch,(3in)jack dem(4in)red oscar(6in)pacu(9in)dinosaur eel(8in)clown knife(12)and last but not least a freshwater snowflake eel(18in)i had a needle nose gar 2days ago but now he’s gone i mean not a trace,so i was wondering which one do you think did it.I usually keep them well fed so(so much that i’ve had probs with the water so i thought that i wouldn’t feed them for a couple days until i got the water straight and thats what happened,and he was 1 of my first to(That hurt cause i got him when he was 1/2in).I also was wondering instead of feeding them gold fish&other feeders all the time if there is anything else that i could give them and give them feeders once a month?I’ve never seen the mory eat but i had him over a month.
Depends on how big the gar was. I know that, besides the loach, those are very aggressive fish. Oscars will and do eat anything that will fit in their mouths. Jack Dempsy’s will attack anything that moves. Eels I am not familar with, but considering gars like to stay at the surface, and eels live near the bottom, I don’t think they did it. Is it possible the gar died of natural causes and the others ate him? I know that’s a terrible thing to say, but they are animals afterall. They don’t really hold any attachments to their tank mates.
As far as feeding, try sinking pellets. They always worked for me.
