Halves Gems

Halves Gems
Has anyone used L’Oreal Color Gems?

I would like to even out my faded color and blend my 1 inch roots in with the faded, splotchy color that the rest of my hair is. My hair is very damaged from previous highlights that I got a little over half a year ago, and the brown dye that I used to cover it up (about 6 weeks ago, Natural Instincts) has faded out. My roots are only slightly different from the rest of my hair, but my hair is very dull, brassy and unhealthy looking.

My goal is to blend my roots and the different colors in my hair together so that it looks natural, shiny and healthy, without using a damaging hair dye.

L’Oreal Color Gems seems like the answer, but I have not used it before. My hair has a reddish orange undertone which I would want to counteract with a rich ash tone so that I will hopefully get a natural chocolate brown result.

I am looking for an educated answer from someone who knows about the chemistry of hair dye.
what about natural match? would this be better for me?

i am not familiar with that brand, but absoultly do not use anything with ammonia. maybe try the natural match kind, it comes in a black box and retails about $9. i think made by either loreal or revlon. its what i use and i had the same problem- damaged hair, red undertones… now my hair is a pretty shiny golden brown, and they do not use ammonia in their product.
