Austin Condos– the Best Real Estate Market?
Purchasing a home in Austin generally gives you two broad choices – an independent home or a duplex. Austin condos seem to be the new third option that is rapidly gaining favor. Of course, you will have a number of wonderful neighborhoods as well as condominium complexes to choose from. Being third ranked in terms of growth rate by CNN, Austin is well-known for attracting people with real estate investment. The fact that several Hollywood actors have also invested in homes here, makes it all the more alluring.
What got the ball rolling for demand for Ausitn Condos was the sudden interest Austin by the national media. Soon condominiums here started to sell at an unprecedented scale. The main value for the money element was that most Austin condos come fully furnished and there is no dearth of people willing to pay for big asking prices. Austin has plenty to do for anyone from the nature lover to the party animal and music fan. Downtown Austin has all that is needed to cater to the entertainment needs of any type of crowd.
A condo is largely based on community style living. You will always have neighbors nearby when you live in a complex. Lake Travis has quite a reputation of quality condos. The lake is a great place to go fishing and a number of fisherman have made their homes here. Water babies, who enjoy a weekend romping around in water and indulging in water sports too have found a home in Austin condominiums located close to Lake Travis. The Lake offers a spectacular view from the Congress Bridge and you can see all the way to downtown. This is way past the Lamar Bridge. People who invest in Austin condos can count on maintaining their lake views because their location will not allow any further obstructive views. Austin condominiums have been purchased as weekend getaway places, a family home or even as a good investment.
Austin has had in excess of 10 condominium projects being set up in the recent past. This is largely a result governmental as well communal effort to lower the distance between work and living areas. Condos in Austin are divided on the basis of views and you will have the Milago and The Shores to choose from. Milago offers a gorgeous and guarded view of the river. Apartments will have to be chosen from the western side of the building and from the 7th floor onwards. Condos here don’t follow the rectangular dictat of the Milago and therefore any apartment chosen will give you the benefit of some kind of view. Austin condos in downtown are classier with many hotels refurbishing upper floors to cater to the demand. For any of you who prefer the privacy of a condo but the five star services of a hotel, many hotels have built condos next door to provide 24-hour luxury services to residents. The offerings of Fifty-five of the Hilton Group here would maybe be the most luxurious.
Downtown Austin has a lot on offer beginning with Clarksville that has a healthy shopping atmosphere. Gastronomes can head for the restaurants of West Lynn and the 6th & Lamar area. This area also has the supermarket Whole Foods, opportunities for ice skating, some yummy ice cream at Amy’s and so great past time at Waterloo Records. The in-crowd is always on South Congress. It is fondly called SoCo by the crowd that frequents this area. This street is home to some interesting condo projects, some which offer fewer units and some that are massive. The larger ones are often south of SoCo. Two streets away to the west is South Lamar aka SoLa which is slowly gearing up to compete with SoCo.
Buying an Austin condo involves certain issues. The sheer variety in styles, location and pricing guarantee that there’s something for everyone. Life in a condo is not suited for those who are fiercely protective about their privacy and who have pets that need open spaces. As a part of the condo style of living you will be interacting with the management association of the condos as well as a residents’ association. Another concern is whether the complex is mostly rented or individually owned as this will affect maintenance.
An Austin condo will require as much research as any place to buy. Prudence in investment is the key to making a good choice.

Wildflowers $4.98 As you listen to Wildflowers, Tom Petty’s first new album in three years and his first ever for Warner Bros., you may be struck by a certain quality, new for Petty but nonetheless familiar. Shaman $4.53 How could Carlos Santana hope to follow the massive comeback album Supernatural? The solution he settled upon was to once again pull in as many guest artists as possible. Shaman features a slew of stars, but, despite their presence, the instrumental “Victory Is Won” is the standout track here, as Santana blazes through an exhibition of his patented fusion of Latin and rock. In contrast, the sugary… |
