Has anyone seen an old Craftsman socket set with the sockets labeled half of their real size? Why is this?
I recently picked up a 1/2″ drive Craftsman breaker bar & socket set all in a green metal case. Each of the sockets is mismarked in size, stating half of it’s real size (i.e. says 1/2, but it’s really 1″)… The other thing that is weird is they all have a “W” right after the size, and nowhere on the sockets is there a part number or “made in USA” which all my other Craftsman stuff has on it. They each say “Craftsman,” followed by a horizontal line that leads to a “V,” then continues onto the size. Is this a rare error, or was there a reason for this set?
