Eisenhower Bicentennial

I need to know how much a gold plated half dollar is worth.?

Hey, all, I took a trip to a local coin dealer today that I really trust. I noticed he had a gold plated half dollar. It’s a bicentennial dated 1776-1996 (since it’s bicentennial). He told me that since I’m a regular customer, he would give it to me for $2. I figured that it was only $2 that I had to lose if it didn’t turn out to be worth anything. He was telling me it was a TV offer a while back for $25, so it was a good deal. I also got an Eisenhower silver proof dollar for $5. The standard for most coin collecting books is $8.50-$10.00

You are correct about the Eisenhower dollar. The gold plating is not worth much, and $2 might be a bit high though not by much.
