Dpl Dmpl

Need help with some coin vocabulary!?

Could someone explain these terms : Prooflike (pl), deep prooflike (dpl), deep mirror prooflike (dmpl). what is the difference between these.

I also want to know what the numbers in these terms mean ms-60, ms-63, ms-65, ms-64

Please don’t answer this question if u really don’t know. i don’t want people guessing. Thanks

A proof is an exemplar of a coin which is not intended to be circulated, but to be collected. It is typically stamped on a very clear shiny, (mirror like) blank. All those “deep prooflike” descriptions are attempts to make a coin which is not actually a proof appear to the prospective buyer to be more valuable than it really is.

Ms means “mint state” and the following numbers are professional estimates of the quality of the coin. Ms 60 means the coin has not been circulated, is still in “mint state” but that it also contains a few marks which impair its perfection. Ms 70 coins are in perfect “mint condition.” Proof is a higher grade even than ms 70 and proof coins are usually more valuable in comparable mintages.
