URGENT: Hair blonding! Yellowish?! asap!?
Ok. I have naturally brown hair. In september I did blonde highlights… December I went all caramel honey blonde.. Last night I bought “Loreal Born Blonde Pale Blonde” Now My hair is very light, which I like, but yellow in some spots…I need some light blonde toner but I have a $20 dollar budget for it and I need to get it somewhere close to Queen Creek Az… Preferably at walmart? cvs? or if you could find a Sallys close by me… but cheap… i will give best advice 5 stars. im 15, a boy, my hair is about 5/6 inches long… I wont be able to get it professionally done until around march, PLEASE HELP! D:
I have been there – not much money, hair not right color!
I don’t really know how to corrective color, but this could be a $7.00 fix – use a “anti-yellowing, anti-brassy” shampoo. Usually purple in color, the ones I have used are “Shimmer Lights” and another one I can’t remember. If you google “anti-brassiness or anti-yellow shampoo” there are a ton out there. I know for a fact Sally’s stocks a couple choices. I have included some reviews, comments off web.
I feel this could be a good option cause 1) non damaging (no bleach, etc) 2) temporary if you don’t like it 3) cheap.
If you can’t get to Sally’s, I think there are some “purple” shampoos at the other stores you mentioned.

Great product! I naturally have long “dirty blonde” hair which I have colored a much brighter blond once a month. Even with a few low lights, my hair can end up looking brassy and cheap without this shampoo. I have tried salon brands that promise anti-brassening effects, but none so effective and affordable as Shimmer Lights. I use it once every 3 washes and get outstanding results. It rejuvinates my color to a bright, non-brassy, healthy blonde with no drying or tangling. This is very cheap (about $6.00 for a 8 oz. bottle at Sally’s) and it gives wonderful results. Just remember to leave it in for about 5 mins. before shampooing with your regular shampoo, and then condition. I find that the Shimmer Lights conditioner is not necessary and leaves build up, but the shampoo is wonderful. Will repurchase for sure!

So lately I have been noticing that a few weeks after I color my hair, it becomes an odd orange brassy color. I think it may be the color line my hair stylist uses, which is Joico, because I have never experienced this before. My sister recommended that I try Clairol’s Shimmer Lights for Blonde and Silver hair. So i trudged down to the shady beauty store in my neighborhood and grabbed a bottle and I have to say I am really impressed by this product especially considering it was only $7.99 for an 16 once bottle. It lifted the brassy color out of my hair and has gradually lightened it, which is a plus! It has even lightened my roots a bit, although I am in need of a touch up ASAP. The shampoo itself is purple, which my hair dresser says that any shampoo meant for blonde/ gray hair should be purple, because they are opposite colors on the color spectrum and the purple will help neutralise the yellow in your hair. Lush also has a shampoo called Daddy O which is purple. I tried it awhile ago, but I can’t give you a fair review since I only tried it a few times, but if anyone has tried let me know.

Usually what I’ll do is apply it to my hair as soon as I’m in the shower and let it sit for about 5 to 10 minutes and then rinse. My sister told me that she applies it to wet hair and leaves it in for about 20 minutes like a mask and it has made her hair almost a white blonde.
I previously used Joico’s line of shampoo and conditions to keep the color in my hair, but it did not prevent my hair from turning this weird brassy color. A bottle of Joico shampoo is about $15-$20 compared to Shimmer Lights $7.99. So it is also a plus on my wallet, and works just as well as many other popular brands. Overall I am loving this product!
