The way many entrepreneurs who are just starting a dollar store see it is all that is needed is to fill all of the shelves with merchandise and they are off to success. If only it were that easy. You are missing the real value of end caps and the high sales possibilities by pursuing the liquidation approach. Be sure to include some items with brightly colored packaging. Dull, neutral colors or displays with no packaging are much more difficult to sell. While some items will sell, these tend to be the lower sales volume end caps for most who are starting a dollar store. Select items that are prepackaged, brightly colored, and have large easily seen lettering.
Your goal is to catch the attention of every passer-by. However to make dollar store sales you must stock your end caps with popular, high quality dollar store merchandise that represent great values.
