Even IF Extra-Terrestrials or ‘aliens’ ARE ‘out there’, what purpose does it make to LQQK for them

What sense does it make to spend Millions of dollars to look for creatures that very likely don’t even exist? If space travelers are so scientifically advanced as to be able to find us, and get here, what defence do we have against them/it anyway?
Same thing with ghosts and BigFoot Monsters; why bother to look for them?

Well I guess it’s to prove that intelligent life exists on other planets. Besides our naturist club needs more members and they might be nudists!
