How can you use a guess and check table to help you solve a problem with the nickles and Dimes.?

You need to give us a problem, but let’s say the problem was:

You have ten coins (dimes or nickels) and they add up to 65 cents…

You could guess that you have 5 dimes and 5 nickels:
Guess:
5 dimes, 5 nickels
Check
75 cents <-- too high

So try guessing 4 dimes and 6 nickels:
Guess:
4 dimes, 6 nickels
Check:
70 cents <-- still too high

Finally try guessing 3 dimes and 7 nickels:
Guess:
3 dimes, 7 nickels:
Check
65 cents <-- correct answer.
