Different Proof

Can a trauma plate that’s a different brand than your bullet proof vest cause issues?

I have an ABA bullet proof vest and put a second chance trauma plate in it, can that cause issues if I the vest gets hit? The plate sticks out a little but will still work I think

I know absolutely nothing about body armor. Having said that, I cannot imagine why it would make the slightest difference.
