Desegregation Silver

Desegregation Silver
could anyone tell me what he means in this poem?

History has to live with what was here,
clutching and close to fumbling all we had–
it is so dull and gruesome how we die,
unlike writing, life never finishes.
Abel was finished; death is not remote,
a flash-in-the-pan electrifies the skeptic,
his cows crowding like skulls against high-voltage wire,
his baby crying all night like a new machine.
As in our Bibles, white-faced, predatory,
the beautiful, mist-drunken hunter’s moon ascends–
a child could give it a face: two holes, two holes,
my eyes, my mouth, between them a skull’s no-nose–
O there’s a terrifying innocence in my face
drenched with the silver salvage of the mornfrost.
…………………………………………………………………………………………….

i understand that it is about desegregation in 1960 in line 10 but thats about all i get!

History has to live with what was here,
clutching and close to fumbling all we had–
THIS REFERS TO NOT BEING ABLE TO CHANGE WHAT HAS HAPPENED.

it is so dull and gruesome how we die,
unlike writing, life never finishes.
THAT WHEN YOU WRITE SOMETHING – ANYTHING – IT HAS AN ENDING, LIFE DOES NOT NOT AS IT GOES ON IN SOME FORM, WHETHER THE AFTERLIFE OR IN MEMORY.

Abel was finished; death is not remote,
ABEL WAS KILLED BY HIS BROTHER CAIN IN THE BIBLE.

a flash-in-the-pan electrifies the skeptic,
his cows crowding like skulls against high-voltage wire,
his baby crying all night like a new machine.
LIFE IS NEW AND STARTLING, OVER CROWDING CAUSES DEATH AND THE SOUND OF NEW LIFE OFTEN MIMICS THE CONSTANT SOUND OF MACHINERY.

As in our Bibles, white-faced, predatory,
the beautiful, mist-drunken hunter’s moon ascends–
A FULL MOON HAS ALWAYS INDICATED A TIME OF CRAZY BEHAVIOR; THE WHITE MOON MAY ALSO REFER TO WHITE PEOPLE AS THEY ARE ASSOCAITED WITH BEING HUNTERS

a child could give it a face: two holes, two holes,
my eyes, my mouth, between them a skull’s no-nose–
O there’s a terrifying innocence in my face
drenched with the silver salvage of the mornfrost.
THAT EVEN THE MOST INNOCENT PERSON HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BE THE “WHITE FACED PREDATOR.”
