Do you think it is OK for a man married 25 years to secretly date on the side?
25 years with the same woman is a long time. It doesn’t mean you don’t love them anymore, but it may mean you are bored and what some variety from time to time. Do you think it’s wrong to feel like this?
Of course it’s normal to feel like that, but it’s a huge leap from feeling to action. I may feel like going to the Bahamas for a week, but if it involves stealing to do it, then it’s wrong….
If you want to date, leave your partner and you’re free to do so. Lying and cheating is never excusable, in any circumstances. It’s the worst sort of deception, and is absolutely heartbreaking to the other person in the marriage, when they find out. It can ruin their entire lives. And those who assume they won’t be caught…. pure arrogance. It only takes one affair that goes sour, and a bitter ex phoning your wife, or worse…
It’s understandable to want happiness and fulfillment – fun etc.. in life. But you can’t have everything you want, just because you want it. You have to find a way to have those things, that doesn’t involve lying and cheating on your wife.
Falling in love with someone else, then leaving the marriage, whilst difficult to cope with, is understandable I think. Playing around cos you’re bored – despicable.
Please don’t do it. Try and repair what you have, before throwing it aside for some temporary quick-fix…. Otherwise be an adult, and leave.
