Selected Marine Corps Reserve Medal? How many years are required? Is time while deployed counted?

I have completed 2.5 years so far in the USMCR so far, my 3rd year anniversary is coming up….will i be elgible for the SMCR Medal? In addition, im currently deployed to iraq so is my time still being counted towards the SMCR Medal or is the requirement only counted when drilling with the reserves? Please Advice!

Surely if you continue your service honourably in the USS Marine Corps in the area of operations, certainly you will be given the medal that you’ll be absolutely deserved….
