What is the probability of getting a presidential error coin out of a fifty count roll from the bank?
And do you think there is a better chance in getting an error in an uncirculated roll or a circulated one?
The only errors you’d get out of a roll would be die cracks, missing edge lettering and possibly lamination errors. It’s rare for major errors to make it into a bank roll. If they’re not quite right, they usually won’t fit through the counter and end up being removed by a mint employee.
I’ve never tried it myself but I’ve been told that mint bags have a better chance of holding error coins. They can be ordered from the mint’s website.
